Shopping tips for birthday party supplies
Creating a shopping list for birthday party supplies
On a sheet of paper, write down all the items that you will need to buy for the birthday party. This will form your Master List. The items will include ingredients for the party food, beverages, cake, utensils, birthday party supplies, invitations, decorations, favors, gifts, games, crafts, game props, game prizes, costumes, and flowers. Remember to include items you need to prepare the food, make the invitations, and putting up the decorations.
From the Master List, create new lists (sheets) for the supermarket, the discount or craft shop, on-line store, and last minute purchases. For each item in the Master List, decide where you will shop for that item. If it's at the supermarket, then copy the item to the supermarket list, if it's at the discount shop, then copy it to the discount shop list and so on. Start a new list if an item requires a trip to a different store. The last minute list should be limited to fresh produce and items that cannot keep. Once you have gone through the Master List, you are ready to do your party shopping. Just bring the lists on your shopping trip to the stores.
Shopping at on-line stores
With the wide array of on-line stores, you can shop for all your birthday party supplies in the comfort of your home, saving you time and hassle. These on-line retailers are experts in their respective trades; otherwise they wouldn't last very long in the business. Their prices are reasonable and they provide great value-for-money. Most of them will deliver your purchases right to your home usually within a few days; some will even provide free delivery.
Tips for on-line shopping
- Before ordering or making any purchase, note the store's return policy and delivery times and charges, especially during peak periods like holidays.
- Print out a copy of your order, note down your order number or customer reference, and the customer service hotline.
- Whenever possible, choose retailers that provide secure credit card transactions.
- For international customers, although many stores provide worldwide delivery, it's best to choose a store that is closer to you. Delivery is usually faster and cheaper, and should you need to call the store's customer service hotline, at least you are in a similar time zone, not half a world away.
